The Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center and the Graduate School have partnered to support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in Summer 2026.
Quiet Writing Space
Starting Tuesday, May 26 – Tuesday, August 11, the Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center (JAHWC) in HSS 212 will be open as a quiet writing space for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to work comfortably and productively in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Come in any time, Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 4 pm. Free snacks and drinks will be available, compliments of the Graduate School. Click here for more information about the location.

Writing Consultations
The JAHWC’s Professional Writing Consultants will be available for one-on-one consultations with graduate student writers. Consultations will be offered online through our appointment scheduler, WCOnline, and in person during selected hours in HSS 212.

Thesis/Dissertation Format Help
The Graduate School requires correct formatting for all theses and dissertations before submission into TRACE. Abby Sherman, Assistant Director of Student Support, will be available to discuss formatting and deadlines for submission.
She will offer online drop-in hours on:
- Wednesday, May 27, from 10 to 11 am
- Wednesday, June 3, from 10 to 11 am

Steps to Graduation
Assistant Director of Graduate Records Management, Julie Harden will offer drop-in consultations in HSS 212 to discuss key forms and deadlines on:
- Tuesday, June 9, from 9 to 10 am

You must have a valid UT parking permit to park on campus. More information about student parking can be found on Parking and Transportation’s website. UT buses will be running on a limited schedule.
