Spring 2026 Undergraduate Writing Workshops
This workshop series nurtures your academic writing abilities, helping them grow through focused, hands-on practice. You will hear engaging content and then apply your knowledge in peer group sessions.
Students in any undergraduate course, including first-year composition courses (English 101, 102, 112, 131, 132, or 298), are encouraged to attend the workshops!

Information for students in English 103 or 104
Students enrolled in English 103 or 104 can receive credit for their weekly attendance by attending a workshop. In addition, 103 or 104 students who attend 2 workshops can receive credit for 1 writing consultation.*
- *You can only receive writing consultation credit for attending 2 workshops ONCE. That means, in addition to attending 2 workshops, you must complete 3 writing consultations to receive credit for ENGL 103/104.
Navigate Information Literacy and Technology
Wednesday, March 25
HSS 212, 1-2pm

In our digital world, it can be increasingly difficult to determine if information is accurate and credible. That’s why in this workshop, FYC Librarian Erin Whitaker will walk you through the basics of information literacy, share digital reference materials, and show you how to assess LLM-generated output for validity.
Cultivate Flow in Your Writing
Wednesday, April 8
HSS 212, 1-2pm
They say good writing “flows”–but what exactly does that mean? In this workshop, we’ll define “flow” and practice using various techniques. Attendees will be given access to an online learning module so they can practice “flow” on their own.
